RV Quick Battery Disconnect

RV Quick Battery Disconnect

I wanted a way to quickly and easily disconnect my rv from the batteries without messing with the straps and lids on my RV battery box. So I went to bought some anderson power poles. The SB50 series. I re-wired the camper wiring into one of these power poles. On the battery end, I made a jumper using 8 gauge wire with a power pole attached. (Nice and heavy compared to the camper's 10 gauge wiring) Now whenever I want to disconnect, all I have to do is "un-plug".

I even went as far as putting a second jumper on the battery - leaving 2 power pole jumpers. I then modified my battery charger, cutting off the battery clamps and installing the power poles. Now whenever I want to charge my batteries, I do not need to fool with removing the battery straps and lids. I simply plug my charger in.

So the snipped off clamps were not a complete loss, I made short jumpers, 12 inches long and put power poles on them too. That way I can just plug the battery clamps back on the charger and use them when needed.
